A Turnkey Fundraising Model that works!

We understand that your school wants to provide wonderful unique experiences for your students and teachers but that sometimes the lack of money gets in the way, we can help.

We have put together a system that will help your school to:

  • Cover 100% of the cost of this Artist-in-School Residency
  • Raise money for other school initiatives
  • Raise school profile while benefiting the community
  • Raise money to donate to your favorite charities (i.e. The Wonderful Music Foundation etc.)
  • Support the Make a Wonderful Day movement
  • Produce and circulate positive music
  • Involve the community in school activities…

What does the Fundraising model include?

We provide your school with a dedicated person to answer all your questions and hold your hand through every stage of the Artist in Residency project. We also provide templates for:

  1. Alberta Foundation for the Arts – All information required to fill out an Alberta Foundation Artists and Education project grant.
  2. School newsletter inserts
  3. CD order forms
  4. Media and community news releases
  5. Advertising on social networks i.e. Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter etc.
  6. Use of any Make a Wonderful Day® promotional advertising products (t-shirts, hats, pens)
  7. Community Concert Posters
  8. Community Concert invitations
  9. Licensing Agreements
  10. FOIP Release Forms
  11. And more…

Did you know?

The Alberta Foundation for the Arts provides Residency Program funding assistance directly to Alberta Schools. There is one application deadline per year. This April 1 deadline provides funding assistance for projects that will take place the following school year.

The AFA provides up to $15,000 per school per year. This is a juried application. We expect that this year between 80 – 100% of the applications will be approved. Last year 90% were approved.

  • Schools in the following locations are eligible for 50% funding; Calgary, Edmonton, Airdrie, Okotoks, Stony Plain, Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Fort Saskatchewan, Leduc, Spruce Grove
  • All other schools are eligible for 75% funding

Process

  1. Fill out the Booking Form request so we can put you into the tour schedule and start the application process.
  2. Before applying to the AFA the school must have a signed contract with the artist. This means knowing the dates and fee.
  3. We give you suggestions on how to write the application and review it before it goes to the AFA.
  4. You finish the application and courier it to the AFA by April 1.
  5. The AFA juries the applications in May.
  6. You find out in June if the application was successful.
  7. If it was not successful we talk over the program and see if it can still go ahead without AFA funding.
  8. You are not required to go ahead with the program if you do not receive AFA funding approval.
