Make a Wonderful Day Announces
The Keys to a Wonderful Life for Children
Calgary, Alberta, October 14, 2008
Thousands of students in five Calgary and area schools will find out how music can motivate and provide an innovative way to help them to discover the keys to a happy and fulfilling life.
Calgary performing artist, Molly Hamilton (alias Miss Molly) created a step by step process to teach students specific actions they can take in making the conscious decision to create positive results and harmony in their lives.
Using the lyrics of the song Make A Wonderful Day written by Hamilton, the goal is to inspire students to see the good in each day, situation and person and thus help them to build more wonderful days and lives for themselves and others in their school and community.
Feedback from Grant MacEwan School
Miss Molly and her musicians visited our school in September as part of our Terry Fox Day. My grade ones and I fell in love with her “Make A Wonderful Day” song and we sing it all the time – at the beginning of the day, as we line up to go home at the end of the day, when we are getting materials out for an activity. The children picked it up in one day – the lyrics are delightfully easy.
I find myself pulling out lyrics throughout the day to suit a variety of situations – especially when encountering a child who “got up on the wrong side of the bed”. I use music constantly in my classroom – kids can’t help but be drawn in when you present a catchy tune. The weekend after our visit, I couldn’t get it out of my head and nearly drove my husband crazy!!
I envy your talent in creating such inspiring melodies. Hopefully my children this year will hold the lyrics close to their hearts and use them to become more resilient and contributing members of their community.
Thank you for sharing your gift.
